"...I left the talk thinking "thank GOODNESS there is someone like her on the speaker circuit." Never before have I felt so in agreement with a lecturer's views, and I can truly say that (the) talk was one of the best I have ever attended.

Why is all this weird stuff happening to you...?

Avoiding "Dumb" Sex

What students are saying:

The Universtiy of Akron
School of Law

Case Western Reserve University

Is “everybody doing it?”  What even counts as sex? Maybe you’ve heard lectures about “safe sex” and avoiding pregnancy and STD’s.  Is it “safe” as long as you don’t have sexual intercourse?  Is it “safe” as long as you use a condom?  Is it “ok” if you are “in love” with each other?

Do you feel like you can’t say “no,” even when you don’t want to have sex? Do you want to talk to an adult, but not your parents? Girls, are the boys pressuring you for sex you don’t want? Boys, are the girls pressuring you for sex you don’t want?

Do you want to know why some of this weird stuff is happening to you? Do the kids of the opposite sex seem weird to you? Do you seem weird to yourself?

Dr. Morse can help you because she understands your situation. How do you suppose she got to be an expert on Smart Sex? By doing a lot of dumb sex. She is a survivor of the Sexual Revolution, as well as a Ph.D. in economics.  She’s read the research and recognized herself in it. She’s not too embarrassed to tell you the truth.

What Dr. Morse can do for you:

  • her CD, “Why Recreational Sex is No Fun,” explains the disappointments you and your friends may have experienced.
  • her booklet, “Avoiding Dumb Sex: Tips for Teens,” identifies dumb situations and gives practical strategies for getting out of them.
  • she can give her Avoiding Dumb Sex assembly at your school. Get rid of the little old ladies in tennis shoes, putting condoms on bananas or ranting about STD’s. Get Dr. Morse to give you the straight scoop on why hooking up is for losers.
  • she can give her Avoiding Dumb Sex workshop for your church youth group.
  • her e-newsletter is filled with commentary on issues important to you, including commentary on the latest research on teen sex.

She realizes that teen sex is often related to family instability, such as divorce, separation, remarriage, or parents living with new boyfriends or girlfriends. She can help you see that you are not alone in your feelings, however alone you may feel. Her articles will help you see that others have gone through what you are going through. Try this one: Do Kids Really Celebrate Diversity?

Teen sex and substance abuse are often linked. She can help you understand the desperate feelings that sometimes lead to both dumb sex and substance abuse.

What are you waiting for?  Get the facts. Invite Dr. Morse to your school.

"Thank you for coming to Arizona State. Your talk was truly inspirational to
a young professional woman like myself."
